Nearly 25,000 homes in south-east Queensland woke up without power on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems passed over the area, generating powerful gusts reaching over 100 km/h.
Massive Ice Stones and Broad Destruction
Locals witnessed giant hailstones as large as seven centimeters in certain regions. Meteorological experts confirmed that multiple regions across Queensland had been impacted by large hailstones.

Response teams were focused on reestablishing energy supply throughout the impacted areas, with dozens of response units working to address the numerous electricity disruptions.
Southern State's Weather Woes
Meanwhile, around 1,000 energy customers in the southern state also encountered power outages after the metropolitan area recorded its wettest day in over 500 days.
State Emergency Services handled nearly 600 emergency reports across the region, primarily for structural issues but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

At one point on the previous day, in excess of 28k energy customers in the state were without power.
Weather Forecast
Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along much of the state's eastern regions this week as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.
Tomorrow was expected to become the wettest day, with ongoing thunderstorm potential expected across various areas of both states.

Medical authorities alerted that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, specifically given the current weather patterns.
