Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt

A resurgent Medvedev claimed his first trophy for 882 days with a win over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult season, winning just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the American major.

His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in especial - resulted in him falling of the top ten and finally parting ways with long-time coach Gilles Cervara.

Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought competitive triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

It is Medvedev's first trophy since the Italian tournament and first on a hard surface from that period of that year.

Victory also means Medvedev has secured twenty-one victories at 21 various competitions.

"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional the champion.

"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my first daughter her name was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his last six title deciders, featuring in Halle earlier this year.

His retrieving play style and regular reactions on the playing surface had led observers to doubt if his capacity to perform at the top level was concluded.

However the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and compete assertively, backed up by an enhanced serve.

He recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, securing four of the concluding five games to take the lead.

The competitors exchanged breaks in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour victory, took control to push for a decider.

The opponent saved four early-game chances in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev broke to that score to serve for the match.

Fittingly, Medvedev clinched victory with a point at the net, with the Frenchman unable to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
